ARCTIC is a company where 25 percent of the employees have worked for more than 10 years. „This is nothing short of remarkable for a young company with young staff in an aggressive and ultra-competitive business where the only constant is change“, tells ARCTICs CEO Magnus Huber. This is why ARCTIC wants to show appreciation and remunerates long-serving employees as well as other thriving colleagues.
Ten years of ARCTIC
In December four employees celebrated their 10th anniversary at ARCTIC: Nancy Liu, Karen Chan, Gilbert Lam and Steven Chow. ARCTIC presented them with an award as reward for their long devotion.
One of the rewarded employees is Gilbert Lam who is responsible for packaging design and pricing as well as design layouts at ARCTIC Hong Kong. On a daily basis, he selects colors, images or fonts, reviews designs before printing or publishing those. Additionally, he comes up with design concepts that meet the corporate identity; a multifunctional job which makes him the interface from production to marketing and sales.
According to Gilbert, ARCTIC offers a great work environment with different cultures and personalities. „I enjoy working in a team together with my colleagues. We get along very well. ARCTIC gave me the opportunity to gain work experience in the first place. For me, it is an honour to receive this award as a recognition for my work and effort here at the organization.“
We asked Huber: What helps us to work with each other, learn and strive in our business?
„I believe the most important factor is time. Time to understand our business, to gain experience, to feel comfortable in your role, and to get to know the colleagues. Let’s be real this is not done in two years. Luckily, we have a lot more than two years.“
Meanwhile in Germany…
Founded in 2012, ARCTIC Germany cannot keep up with Hong Kong office’s long-lasting careers. Instead, Brunswick office awards an employee of the year.
This year the company selected Sabine Sellier who works as a graphic designer in Brunswick. She is responsible for creating, for example, the corporate layout and the usage guidelines for print and external materials.
She is a person who truly represents ARCTICs values: positive energy, team spirit, innovation, transparency and entrepreneurial action. With her efforts and great performance, she provided the extra benefit for ARCTIC in the past year.
CEO Huber would like to thank all employees for supporting ARCTIC, some of them for more than 10 years already. „You are the main reason that all of this is possible “, he concludes.
